John Cashman has been in the entertainment business for the last twenty years. Most recently he spent the past seven years as an Effects Animator for Walt Disney Feature Animation. While gaining valuable experience in fundamental animation principles at Disney, John had the opportunity to put that experience to work on cutting edge 3D software and technology. His credits include MULAN, TARZAN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: SPECIAL EDITION, LILO AND STITCH, and BROTHER BEAR.
Before Disney, John worked extensively in the Theatre and Film industry as a Production Manager, Technical Director, Actor, Director, Scenic & Lighting Designer, and Fight Director. It was in fact his years of experience as a theatre movement specialist that introduced him to animation when he was hired to design the swordplay and provide 'live action reference' for Walt Disney's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.
John received a Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in California, and his past teaching experience includes the University of California at Santa Cruz, American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
In his spare time, he enjoys teaching stage combat to actors and choreographing theatrical violence at venues in Orlando and across the country.
