Advanced Web Page Design

(3 Credit Hours/4 Contact Hours)

Prerequisites: Minimum grades of C in Intro to Computers & logical thinking (GRA 1149), Web Page Design (GRA 2141), and Interactive Design I (GRA 2131) or departmental approval.

Advanced tools and techniques will be taught enabling students to produce sophisticated, interactive web sites according to audience needs and capabilities. Understanding of web site maintenance and administration will be covered.

This course focuses intensively on Macromedia Dreamweaver MX on the PowerPC Macintosh Platform to produce interactive projects for the internet with an emphasis on functionality, navigation and layout design. Students will learn site planning and architecture, communication, advanced web techniques, and what makes an effective web page. Students should be familiar with the Macintosh platform and have had prior novice experience with Dreamweaver. Basic knowledge of flash is also desirable, though not required.
