Advanced Graphic Design I

(3 Credit Hours/3 Contact Hours)

Prerequisites: Minimum grades of C in Fundamentals of Creative Thinking (GRA 1933), Layout & Design (GRA 1203C), and Fundamentals of Typography (GRA 1206C) or departmental approval.

Addresses practical problems relevant to contemporary industry standards in graphic communications. Emphasis on producing layouts and comprehensives in black and white and color. Various up-to-date methods of camera-ready production are utilized.

A course in which the student develops a sense for design through "real world" projects and learning of terms through verbal interaction. A weekly project combined with a series of multiple week projects will help strengthen the individuals ability to conceptualize and design. Class time will also be used to work on projects to strengthen the student's ability to "design on demand".

Computer Literacy: Students will be expected to already have a basic mastery of the software acquired in the prerequisite courses.
